Patricia Batson

Hello from Chicago!

Hello and happy Friday to you! I hope everyone enjoys a blessed, peaceful holiday weekend.

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm Patricia Batson, the creative director of Avalon Agency Chicago. My background is in advertising, TV,, film and radio. I was also an arts and entertainment writer for Yahoo.com and other online and print publications..

This summer, I will be working on a film set and going back to Los Angeles, where I used to live for a couple of years. I'm excited about this opportunity and very happy to meet you! Cheers ❤️

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Patricia. I remember we spoke on here before. How are you?

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg

Welcome here Patricia!

MB Stevens

Hey, Patricia. Welcome and good to hear about your upcoming journey. I'm from Chicago too. Go Bears! Onward and upward.

Heather McNamara

Hi Patricia. Welcome!

Patricia Batson

Hello there and thanks for the messages and well wishes! It's cool to connect with you here. The first thing I'm going to do is go visit Hollywood Blvd again where I can hang out with my friends like this fun dude!!

Patricia Batson

@mbstrvens it's good to meet another Windy City friend! Cheers

Doug Nelson

I didn't know that Chicago has Palm Trees or that the Paramount Gate was there - I guess I need to get out more. Welcome to the flock..

Patricia Batson

LoL @doug Nelson. Hi there! No but I wish. That's to symbolize my return to Los Angeles this summer. However Chicago sure has gorgeous lake Michigan and deep dish pizza! Yummy

Patricia Batson

That's the view from my condo's backyard, dawn breaking from beautiful Lake Michigan. Lovely city ❤️

Maurice Vaughan

I like deep dish pizza, Patricia. :)

Maurice Vaughan

That's a beautiful sight, Patricia.

Patricia Batson

I love this photo, taken the day we first moved to Los Angeles in 2008. My hubby Robert and the caped crusader on Hollywood Blvd

Patricia Batson

@maurice hi there and thanks! I'm great Maurice. Here's some deep dish just for you

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, Patricia. :)

Patricia Batson

Good morning and I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! The absolute highlight of living in Los Angeles was working on the set of Glee at Paramount Studios. What a fun experience and having the infamous Hollywood sign to look at every time, was pure bliss ❤️ Can't wait to go back this summer!

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Patricia. What was it like on set?

Molly Peck

Hi Patricia, happy to have you in the community!

Patricia Batson

@maurice. Magical! Hands down, the most enjoyable, professional and well run shows I had the pleasure to work on. The hours were ridiculously long, sometimes 18 plus hours, but they took great care of everyone and it was mostly positive working environment. Jane Lynch was the best, too! Such a sweet, warm, funny lady ❤️

Patricia Batson

@molly hello Molly and thank you!

Maurice Vaughan

Jane is funny. :) If 18 plus hours is long, what's the average number of hours on a TV set?

Md Sakil Sony

Same too you

Aconda Williams

Great to meet you!

Patricia Batson

@maurice - it varies but Glee was unusually long hours every time. The shortest was Grey's Anatomy where they only used background actors 6 to 8 hours, sometimes only a few! Average I would say is 12.

Patricia Batson

Hi everyone, it's wonderful to meet you! ❤️

Maurice Vaughan

Ok, thanks for letting me know, Patricia. I'm a screenwriter, but it's useful to know the production side of the business.

Ilan Breil

Hey Patricia, what a positive post. What creative endeavors are you up to in LA this summer? Share with us.

Cherelynn Baker

Safe travels and good luck on this new adventure !
