Filmhub

How does Filmhub pay content partners/filmmakers? Wouldn’t it be more profitable to deal directly with the network if possible?

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg

It would be more profitable, yes. To my knowledge, Filmhub has no more ability to get onto a network than any other rep, and maybe less. They do get onto a select list of platforms though (including Amazon, where they split that hefty 1 cent per stream with the filmmaker) . Filmhub has a sketchy business model IMO, which I will be discussing in a blog post. True though that some people claim good experience, while some not. However, Filmhub uses an algorithm which boosts their own profits and essentially drops less-performing titles to the bottom of listings where they are harder to find. Also, they charge a platform for the opportunity to even look at their catalog (which is not a fact the film makers are told about)... like... a lot. So for those film makers who follow the "be everywhere" principle, it's less likely if you are on Filmhub.

It's an aggregator with an algorithm and like gambling at a casino, the house always wins. What challenge were you looking to Filmhub for as a solution?

Lauren Hakulinen

I read that FilmHub split is 80/20 - they get 20%. Does that sound right?

Lauren Hakulinen

Does anyone have an opinion of vuulr?

Dano Veal

Filmhub, probably so, it’s just they’re the middleman and payout a cut of a cut… If your film is chosen.
