I'm currently developing a small slate of features. Attaching talent and figuring out shooting schedules, etc..:). And also freelancing on the side.

Cool, Jose Zambrano Cassella. Do you prefer features over TV, commercials, documentaries, etc.?

Maurice, I also love commercials, that was my training ground. So yeah. Docs are also good too, lots of cinematic opportunities there now days.

Commercials are fun to write, Jose Zambrano Cassella, but it can be a challenge trying to squeeze everything into 30 seconds, 45 seconds, and a minute. I like documentaries, but I haven't written any. I've researched how to write them though. They're a lot different than writing scripts.

Trying to squeeze everything into 30 seconds, 45 seconds, and a minute is what the challenge is and what makes you a more solid director.
In spots, specially story driven spots, I was able to truly come into my own in Editing, Cinematography and Directing, without mastering those 3 things, I felt then and still believe today, you are not truly free to fly with your imagination (My opinion of course). Its stressful but awesome too. Documentaries are great too, but in my case It all starts with a theme, a story, something worth exploring in that genre...
Sorry, Are you missing something? "I felt then and still believe today, you are not truly free to fly with your imagination (My opinion of course)" Until you do what, Jose? Work on commercials?

Jeez Amman, touchy touchy, of course imagination. I meant building storytelling skills, In MY case I did that through spots. I Hope my insolence didn't offend anyone. I shall go flog myself for forgiveness.:), Lol.

Jose, good stuff. I am Anthony Melancon Sr, an educator, writer, children's book author, voice talent, filmmaker and commercial actor from New Orleans. I write various genre, and I am hustling to sell writing projects. I welcome collaboration with others and I am always offering any help that I can to others, especially encouragement to stay the course with their projects and to believe in them. Presently, I am now offering to share short projects and others for filmmakers to produce, I only ask to be acknowledged and to be given proper due credit per many benefits. Peace

Nice to meet DiTanya. Sounds interesting. I'm based in Los Angeles but I work all over the planet really. ( Funny, I live in LA but never really work there).
I'm learning more about editing, Jose Zambrano Cassella. I've heard it helps writers write better scripts.

It does Maurice, it does...
Thanks, Jose Zambrano Cassella. There's a book about editing that someone recommended (for writers who wanted to learn about editing so they could write better scripts). I can't remember the book though.
