Hi there, all. After putting this off from months now, figured it's time I introduced myself. My name is Morgan, and I'm an emerging filmmaker based in Cape Town, South Africa. (It's a long story about how, as a 56-year old, I'm only now emerging, so we'll save that for another day.)
What I'd like to talk about is my current 'project'. I have a few medium- to long-term projects, but after seeing many young filmmakers around me make their own short films, I thought I should do my own. Had a few ideas, even wrote down one or two. But after meeting my muse-for-the-moment a week ago, I have been furiously working on a concept note and outline - I write it almost as a screenplay - for the past days. And it's the most complete project I've ever had: as I write, the ideas keep coming and evolving. I might even, in a day or so, have something ready to write up proper and film. Inspired by the John Cassavetes-Gena Rowlands partnership, it's a vampire short.
Over the moon about this.
Glad to have you here my friend! You have a lot going on. And you're in one of my favorite cities! I am a big fan of Cape Town. Gorgeous city. Keep me posted here and at j.mirch@stage32.com - I will happy to help as much as I can.
