Screenwriting : Hey everyone by Burcu Akinci

Hey everyone

I am very new to this. Passionate about writing and currently I am looking to connect like minded, possibly professional & successful screenwriters to support and guide me to create my first screenwriting experience! :-)

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Real Deal"

Burcu: Welcome, and please let me know if I can help.

Pepe Amato

Hi Burcu,! I hope I can help!

Burcu Akinci

Good morning all, thanks for all your responses. This got me excited as I can learn grow with the fellow writers and mostly you all at a much better level than I am. Writing has been a massive interest to me since I was little. I have a special gift that makes my stories unique and unusual. I have a wondering mind with a massive imagination which has no boundaries.

My problem is how to start and put all those ideas on paper and create my first master piece in a way! Lol

I have been gathering a lot of notes and information over the years and started writing pieces they are not in order at all.

I am a scientist and I love putting that knowledge into my writings. I am mainly fascinated by quantum physics and multi dimensional concepts which brings so many crazy ideas to my mind which i believe will definitely capture those sci-fi funs interest.

My favorite Tv show lately has been stranger things. I love the 80s concept and the multidimensional events taking place in the series.

If you like to drop me message and love to chat and support my writing I would be ever greatful. English being my second language, although I write all my stories in English, i will definitely need a editor to help me out before I can seek potential producers to look at my work.

Thanks for connecting and reaching out. :-)

Welcome to the Screenwriting Lounge, Burcu Akinci. You wrote in your post, "My problem is how to start and put all those ideas on paper and create my first master piece in a way!" Do you outline your script ideas?

Also, who's your favorite "Stranger Things" character?

Burcu Akinci

Hi @Maurice Vaughan,

To be honest, I come up with multiple ideas and different characters and write them down in my notebook, then I do research on specific parts of the story where it may needs factual information put in. One biggest struggles I have is my ADHD, i start one thing then move on to something else! I almost need someone to tell me stay on path and finish this first. Because I got so much going on in my head and I fear that I will forget things. Outlining the script is something I will work on next.

My favorite main character is Duston. The reason for that is Duston resembles some of my personality traits, such as being an observer and a protector of the unity within the friend groups. He also frequently resolved the conflicts within the group and has a naturally inquisitive mindset towards the supernatural events unfolding around them. Something I would do, have a neutral, level-headed approach due to my science background.

Dustin is also the most scientifically inclined of the group (despite his love of fantasy) and may be the most intelligent of them all, which is very similar to myself, when I watch the series I get into it easily as I can relate his mindset and his approach to unfolding unnatural things in their town. :-)

"I almost need someone to tell me stay on path and finish this first." That's what the Stage 32 community is here for, Burcu Akinci. :) Keep us updated on your script so we can help you stay on track and finish it.

And Duston sounds like a great, unique, really well-developed main character, Burcu Akinci. You need that type of main character in a script since most of the story will follow that character. A great, unique, really well-developed will help get your script optioned or sold.

I am on it!! Also, when writing scripts, do I also write about my characters sich a description of the person, their appearance what they like and dislike to show the reader what type of person is my character? Thanks

Scott Meyers from the Go Into the Story blog has a whole series on character introductions for primary, secondary and tertiary characters.

Maurice Vaughan

When I introduce characters in a script, Burcu Akinci, I add their personalities. If their appearance and clothes/accessories are important to the story, I also add those.

I've been reading the Go Into the Story blog for years, Sabrina. Writers should definitely check it out.
