It's officially Fall, otherwise known here in the US, as the real new year. Summer is done, and it's when we all get down to business. We're doing the same thing over in the education department, we are planning webinars and classes but we need your input. What do you want to learn? What skills do you want to hone? What subjects interest you? Let us know what will help YOU level up your career.

one thing i would love to see, is videos about getting out of your head, getting past the judgement of your choices for your character as well.

I believe classes about “the business” of acting are needed. Many actors I talk to believe they book, film, get paid and that’s it. This is a business and actors need to understand the workings of it. Also mindset classes. Adults, actors or otherwise, were raised being told XYZ is good and ABC is bad. There are subconscious beliefs that need to be addressed (money, success, fame, etc.).

Thank you for these suggestions on what would be useful on your journey. It sounds like a mix of both mindset classes; hoe to change limiting beliefs that are holding you back as well as classes on the business of acting. Anything else that would be relevant?

Honestly I just need to get started, is there any schools in San Diego you would recommend?

We often don't hear anyone discussing the actual 'creation of a human being.'

This is an excellent question that needs to be a part of one's ongoing progress. Since I trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in LA, I found many webinars, especially on casting websites, agents & managers, helpful. Since I am also an independent filmmaker, casting and promoting fellow actors, webinars on marketing or distribution, even at film fests, are refreshing & insightful. However, I always felt an urgent need for media and public relations and, more importantly, community development of media spaces (e.g. press conferences, webcasts, podcasts) that bring actors, filmmakers, and journalists together in an ongoing dialogue. I do offer media workshops (https://filmfreeway.com/WallofFameFestival) and would be excited to co-create spaces to voice in the media

I'm a little inundated by classes and coaches and everyone offering a fail-safe how-to system for success. I would really like to see something concrete, like casting directors looking at my material, all posted on Stage32. I've had leading roles in several award-winning indie films and no-one in the industry ever sees them. I want to work!
