Hello all,
I am working on producing my first project, an episodic documentary, in which each episode explores the relationship between an artist and their parent and the relationship between the artist and their work.
Currently, I have:
This documentary explores how an artist's relationship with their parents feeds their current relationship with creativity.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, I am unsure of what exactly a good logline should look like.
Thank you !
Nora

Hi just seen post, full feedback later on log line but instantly “This documentary” is a waste of valuable word real estate on the page. The departments you pitch to or whoever reads the work will already know the genre.

I like the concept, Nora O'Dea. I suggest changing the opening ("This documentary explores..."). You can check loglines for documentaries on IMDb to see how they're written. https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000434410/

"Exploring an artist's creativity fueled by the angst of overbearing parents!" Or whatever the creative motivation might be. ;)
