Post-Production : New editing software by David Charles Russell

New editing software

I am purchasing a new Mac studio on Black Friday. I am kind of wizard with basic editing in imovie, but am thinking of becoming advancing and utilizing better software for more prosperous future projects. What editing and animation software/app. do you recommend if you could only buy one for your new Mac studio?

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

Premiere Pro.

Simon Foster

FCP

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg

David Charles Russell Premiere or DaVinci. FCP has been defacto dropped for new development by Apple and used less and less in the industry. I prefer Premiere, but DaVinci is really taking over. Avid is still strong as well.

Stephen Folker

Used them all.

Premiere Pro hands down is the best. Davinci Resolve is fantastic for pushing your color grade. Use whatever you like best.

Frank Van Der Meijden

As many here, I'ld think that Premiere Pro is one of the better options. But a lot of people work with Final Cut Pro and Avid as well. (& DaVinci indeed)

Sam Chambliss

DaVinci is also free, so there's that

Kayden H

I definitely recommend DaVinci. I was studying color correcting & grading in it, and even with just the free version you can do a lot with it.
