Hello, my name is Michael Bennett. I'm new to Stage32. I joined after hearing about it at the recently completed AFM. I've been in entertainment for 30 years as an actor, producer and writer. I took a 10-year hiatus to care for my ailing mother and recently returned to a business I truly love.
My first screenplay since my return, Destination Unknown, is based on a true story and heroics of the 320th Barrage Balloon. The film follows the exploits of a traumatized 17-year-old who volunteers for WWII service to escape the clutches of the Klan only to find an equally insidious foe within that threatens to thwart his segregated battalions unique and critical D-Day mission.
Destination Unknown has placed in three script writing competitions in just a few months and now ranks in the top 12 percent on Coverfly. I've posted a synopsis in my profile if you want to read more.
I've just begun the process of packaging the film so I welcome input and suggestions, especially as it pertains to my search for a director.
I look forward to making new friends and helping all of you where I can.
All the best to everyone.
Michael

Welcome, Michael! Nice to meet you. Glad you're here. I can already tell you're a cool person; being willing to take care of your ailing parent, no matter the cost to you or your career. shows real character. That's something the world needs more of!

Thank you so much for your kind words. My mom was my everything. Alzheimer's is an awful disease, but I wouldn't trade those last 10 years with her for anything.
Hi Michael Bennett - since nice to meet you! Welcome to Stage 32! Destination Unknown sounds like a phenomenal story, congratulations on it's recent success! Especially so meaningful to hear that it's based on a true story.
And I'm echoing Matthew's sentiment, how wonderful you were able to be by your mother's side the past 10 years.

I'll definitely be reading it Michael! About to write a military biography based on my dad's special forces experiences, and am excited to read how you handle various situations. I'll admit I'm a little intimidated to start, and wish he was still around to tell the battle scenes in his own words.
