One thing I learned in film school was that I should get a producer involved in my movie while I'm still in the writing process. This advice came from a former producer at Miramax. Now, my question is, who do I talk to? How do I start this process and find someone to talk about this script with? My hope is to get them on board so we can start development and actually get the ball rolling.
Any suggestions? Thoughts, hopes, dreams?

That's great advice, Errol Teichert. You can find a producer on Stage 32. You can check the Lounges (https://www.stage32.com/lounge -- especially the Producing Lounge), you can post an ad in the Job Section (https://www.stage32.com/find-jobs), and you can join the Writers' Room (https://www.stage32.com/writers-room/portal -- there are live events where producers talk to Writers' Room members, which could lead to an opportunity for you to work with them if they like your project).

This Californian kid also went to a film school and had this wacky action scripts but 0 connections/track record...but he had a professor and would often provide him his work to read (professors usually do that, beside grading/lecturing)...and then this professor, of course being involved into filmmaking for years knew couple ceo's personally and after finding potential in those wacky scripts set a meeting...and today this guy has a legendary name of being Shane Black...
Now if I ever went to film school I'd do just the same as this is an advantage random security guards/burger flippers/retail store clerks/wannabe screenwriters simply do not have..

That's basically asking strangers to pre-paid for your screenplay while you're still writing drafts. (you gotta be known for pre-paid money/development (whatever "get the ball rolling" means).

Hey Erroll, you might want to check out our "First Ten Pages" service - an industry professional of your choice will read just the first 10 pages of your screenplay and give notes. There's also the option for them to request a meeting with you. That could be a good place to start seeing if your screenplay is ready to attract producers. Check it out here: https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/coverage/buy?id=20
