Ken Levine

Screenwriter/Legal Consultant

I am a recently trial lawyer now acting as a legal movie consultant and screenwriter for movies, cable shows and television. I rely on my years as a nationally known trial lawyer to advise studios, writers, directors and producers about courtroom scenes, dialogue, subject matter, and trial procedure. I also work as a screenwriter for films writing dialogue for courtroom and legal scenes. Most recently I acted as a legal consultant and screenwriter with writer Kata Weber, Cannes Film Festival award winning Director Kornél Mundruczó and Director/Producer Martin Scorsese on the film Pieces of a Woman. I was present on the movie set for the filming of the courtroom scenes working directly with Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf, Ellen Burstyn, Molly Parker as well as the other actors. I have also reviewed projects for Tyler Perry Studios and Apple TV.

Ken, it must be fun to transition from trial to consultant. What made you decide on the pivot?

Ken Levine

Based on my trial experience the director of the movie Pieces of a Woman reached out to me to consult on legal aspects of the movie. Once I became involved with the movie my role grew and grew and I ended up writing a portion of the film and working with the actors on the movie set. I have since worked again with the movie's director Kornel Mandruzco and executive producer Martin Scorcese on an Apple TV project. I have been a trial lawyer for 42 years and it was time for a new adventure.
