Hi, Everyone!
Al Lefcourt here, co-writer and co-producer of the award-winning short The Missed Flight.
It was produced on a tiny budget during Covid with an extremely talented local cast and crew (San Diego).
You can view the trailer, see our accolades and more at our website themissedflight.com.
I am promising myself to spend more time here at Stage 32 in the coming year, so let me know how we can help each other.
Looking forward to connecting!

Hi Al Lefcourt! Congratulations on your short film! That's incredible -- would you be interested in writing about your experience for the Stage 32 blog? We love de-mystifying the production process so that more people can take control of their careers like you have :)

Certainly! Any particular section I should post that in? It's a long story, but I'll be brief. :-)

You're welcome, Al Lefcourt. Was it hard to film in an airport on a tiny budget?

Welcome!
Actually, Maurice, Covid did us a favor. It's a small airport about 25 miles north of San Diego and was totally shut down because of the pandemic, so they were happy to have any income whatsoever. And we were happy not to have real passengers and crew to contend with, so it worked out great. I don't recall the exact dollar amount, but it was a lot less than you'd imagine if it were a fully functioning airport, as it is again today. The main San Diego Airport was, not surprisingly,, prohibitively expensive.

Emily - Been busy with holidays and much more, but I will try to get around to a brief description of the process.
