Just had to say "hi" to all you wonderful Stage 32 people... I am still here and still 'kicking'. Some days are harder than others. Some days feel as if I am going backwards, but as long as there is movement (in any direction), there is progress. Often retracing steps can be enlightening and either reveal new and more creative and challenging paths or it can reassure us we are indeed on the right track. I have learned that taking the scenic route may take longer, but it is so much more exciting, and it feeds the soul if only we open ourselves to new experiences... (Gee, aren't I quite the philosopher today: a pocket-sized one. It must be the lack of sleep after a 2:45 am call time. There is nothing like a deserted road, thunder and lightning and the heavy droplets of rain hitting your windshield. Perfect time to muse. Tuning out all distractions and being alone with your own thoughts in the confines of your mind can be rather cathartic! As can be a top-to-bottom house cleaning. Speaking of which, better don my rubber gloves, grab my trusty mop (no wonder they call me a witch) and get cracking... As one of my idols, Agatha Christie, said, housework is a perfect time to plot your most devious narratives. I suppose the lesson is there are opportunities for creation and an abundance of narratives all around us, even in the most mundane of activities, if we only know how to look... OK, that is enough contemplation. The kitchen sink is beckoning.
