My name is Phillip Chavez and I am a filmmaker based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2019, I began working on my first microbudget movie, Manada, without any prior knowledge of the field. It was all run and gun, while learning on the fly. The movie was shut down because of lockdowns but I managed to finish after things lifted. After learning more about microbudget filmmaking, and screenwriting, I am now working on making my latest feature, a dark comedy/LGBTQ/psychological thriller, that is also a microbudget. Currently learning from Wormser's class, and just finished Module 1!
Looking to connect and meet like-minded filmmakers, hopefully, to collaborate sometime! Currently pre-planning a crowdfunding campaign that I will launch in a couple of months, while also learning from Botto's book "Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers" (I'm not affiliated, but the book is solid)

Great IY post, Phillip and congratulations on getting so much accomplished in such a short period of time. Also appreciate the kind words on the book! Hope you'll leave an Amazon review when you're through. Cheers.

Hi Phillip Chavez! I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area too! That's too bad that Covid shut your microbudget movie down for a time, but congrats on finishing it after things lifted.
