Stage32 Family!

Hello guys,

Excited to be here again for another IYW. Hope your year has been productive so far. Thank you to everyone in this community especially to the" encouragers" in the comments. What you do is invaluable. To the new, WELCOME. To everyone else, happy to connect.

I am a screenwriter(blended dramas), and aspiring filmmaker. Looking forward to the adventures ahead. Cheers.

Geoff Hall

Hello again, Inky Egwuenu how are you doing? I hope you are keeping well.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Inky. My year's been really productive so far. How about yours?

GiGi Raines

Hi Inky! Always happy to encourage and support! Good to see you here this weekend!

Inky Egwuenu

Hello Geoff Hall I'm doing well thank you! All is well at my end. :-) You?

Inky Egwuenu

Howdy Maurice Vaughan good to hear that! Mine is moving along nicely as well. Thanks for asking. :-)

Inky Egwuenu

Hello GiGi Raines good to be seen, almost missed it! Lol. It's good to see you too. What are you working on right now?

Sam Sokolow

Hi Nkky - it’s great to meet you here in the community! What are you working on right now?

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Inky. Glad to hear your year's moving along nicely.

Geoff Hall

Inky Egwuenu it’s good to hear you are doing well. Life for me is challenging at the moment, but the creative juices are still flowing! Thanks for asking.

Inky Egwuenu

Sorry to hear about your challenges Geoff Hall. I am so happy to hear you are still creating. Look for those moments when the cloud moves out of the way so the sun shines through. It may be brief, but I've observed that many challenges have those cherished moments.

Guy O'Neal

Nice to hear from you! More an' more, I realize this is a tough business

Ralph Patterson

I am retired from a career in broadcast news as a cameraman. After several rewrites and notes from other filmmkers and readers, I have a script, A drama. It is a story about adoption, lives reconnected and the courage to love. I have pushed myself to go forward, but if I am honest perfectionism is standing at the gate telling me it needs a few thousand more "tweaks". Anybody been here and if so what self talk did you use to get to the next level?

Inky Egwuenu

Hello Ralph Patterson, glad to meet you. What helped me get over the issue of perfectionism is... writing. :-)The more you write, the more confidence you get as a writer and you stop second guessing yourself. At the very least, take the next step forward and see what happens. That's my two cents. :-)

Inky Egwuenu

Hello Guy O'Neal, thank you for your comment. It's a tough business indeed but look forward to the adventure ahead. :-D

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Ralph. I agree with Inky. Also, remember that no script is ever perfect.

Geoff Hall

@RalphPatterson I just tell that voice to be quiet and then put the project away for a while and work on something else, it helps put everything into perspective. It seems to work, for me. Perfectionism is, as Maurice says, is not for scriptwriters.
