Hello! I submitted two scrips to the contest but they are one story told in two parts. I emailed to request that they have one reader and in order and the reply I got was that they can't guarantee that. If a reader just gets one or they are read out of order, they won't make much sense as you can imagine. Is there anything I can do to help get this done or is it really that difficult? Thanks in advance.

I would imagine it would be very difficult. Checking on the possibility before submitting would have been prudent. And even then, you are asking a reader to do what, a 200-240 page script? The Academy Nicholl Fellowship accepts up to 160 pages, I believe.

Thanks for the reply and good advice on checking first but other contests have had no issue as I paid for two. Once I started notifying contests that they were together they have been getting much higher marks.

Hi there Ali, I am struggling to understand why there's two different screenplays. Is it a page count issue? Are they sequels? I read some of your loglines and you have what appears to be really interesting stories. I'm just confused by the 1 and 2 with them both having the same logline and everything. As a person who has read screenplays for festivals I can tell you that in all of my experience we were randomly given scripts and one of the reasons is because if you have a competition and you make an accommodation for someone that is outside of the rules but you don't do it for everyone else you could end up refunding a lot of applications. Good luck with your story though.

Hi Ali, as everyone has mentioned, we assign contest scripts randomly in order to make sure the contest is fair. This is also the reason we can't make any accommodations on a case to case basis. Thanks for your understanding.

Hey Nathan, thanks for the reply. Number 2 is not really a sequel, it's a continuation of the same story. It's based on true events and I just couldn't do the characters justice with 120 pages. Think more like a Kill Bill type. Just reading one of them or out of order would be almost pointless as they feed off one another. I get what you and Molly (thanks for replying as well!) are saying but other contests have had no issue with the request. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that somehow they can stand alone as well.
