I am a late bloomer as a screenplay writer. Two of my screenplays, based on two of my novels, tell dark and suspenseful stories through the eyes of a KGB agent. Both scripts were selected for the semi-finals at international competitions. I have done a number of 8-minute pitches, which were mostly very encouraging. However, at this point, all of that, plus $3.50, gets me a cup of Starbucks coffee. The next step, which most of us are trying to take, seems to be very elusive.
I am sorry to sound so down. It must be the weather.

Hey Alexander Rosenstein! No such this as a late bloomer in this industry because you can enter it and succeed at any time! I would love to hear more about what you're working on if you want to shoot me an email at success@stage32.com
Great to meet you, Alexander Rosenstein.
Stories told through the eyes of a KGB agent sound exciting! Congratulations on both scripts reaching the semis!
What's your goal for your scripts? Sell them? Use them to help get you a manager or agent?

Either or both. Selling would help me to get an agent, and getting an agent would help me to sell. I hope one of those will happen soon. Thank you for the encouragement!
No problem, Alexander Rosenstein. Are you networking with producers, production companies on Stage 32? And do you have pitch decks? They'll help you pitch your scripts.

Take that encouragement and ride the momentum, Alexander. This is a marathon, not a sprint. All that matters is that you keep taking steps forward and never stand still.

Also, I know you mentioned you've done some pitches, but are you in communication with the Development Team? They can help point you in the right direction based on what you're writing, the feedback you've received and so on. If you haven't done so, drop them a line at success@stage32.com and give them the full picture. They're here to help and love doing so!

Hi Alexander - it’s great to meet you here in the community. We all experience what feels like mountains to climb so please never apologize. You have a supportive community here at Stage 32. And it sounds like you have some great ideas that have a proven audience. You just have to hang in there, keep working and know that everything you’re feeling is normal and OK and something every creator works through. In terms of getting a rep, please allow me to recommend this Stage 32 class taught by manager Audrey Knox on how to approach reps - here’s a link so you can check it out: https://www.stage32.com/classes/Stage-32-Screenwriting-Class-How-to-Bett...

Alexander, my Starbucks this morning was $5.88 so you're winning on that front at least.
They say Hollywood is the only place where you can die of encouragement for a reason.
A lot of it is out of your control. But you decide what you write about and how much time you devote to improving your craft. You've had a bit of success on the contest circuit so that's encouraging. Just keep plugging away and take joy from the written word. Chin up up up.
