The comedy writer in me finds inspiration in good puns for titles. But more seriously, I think my method has always been to find inspiration in coming up with a brand new angle to tell an old story.
As a Screenwriter I often gain my inspiration from films or Documentaries, that portrays someone who has dreamed above the norm into the impossible. The film "tick tick Boom", is that kind of film that has pushed me to better my craft.
I second the great advice that Craig D Griffiths gave. For me, everything comes down to character work. I love to people-watch and often find inspiration in watching other people interacting out in the world. I love to go to places like the mall and just walk around window-shopping and people-watching. It often helps me develop my characters to have distinct voices and personalities.
I learned to write stories when I was 9. I’m 18 now. I get inspired by other films
