If you are thinking of putting a project up on slated.com in hopes of finding a producer, financier or to access their "script analysis" services - you need to be aware of the latest news before you do.

Thanks for posting this. Slated has changed business models a few times because they just never got the monetization right. Lately, I believe since last year, you have to pay for their "evaluation" to even use the site for finding matches. Their fees aren't cheap and they want EP credit with no clout to warrant either. It was a good idea that was never fully realized -- I can't imagine they will succeed in raising funds at that level but WeFunder has pulled off sketchier miracles.

I checked it out ages ago, and concluded that it was sketchy. There is little to no indication that they have actually put any significant number of deals together, and their entry point is a hefty fee to analyze the business end of your project, which seems a bit cart before the horse.

Sites like that are money grabs. I'm sure there are a handful of success stories...but I think most people would have a better chance of winning the lottery or getting attacked by a rabid pack of cats.

I joined Slated years ago when I did my short film and it smelled like scam city. Never used it but i still get email all the time from them. Glad I never wasted money on them.
