Jashanpreet Kaur what a wonderful experience to bring to this platform, you are likely to see many thousands of various film industry colleagues here on Stage 32!
It takes some time to immerse yourself here on what is both an Educational site with many resource channels and also a Networking site where you can easily view and connect with those who share your vision.
It is helpful if you take some time to add Links and Projects at least some details on your Profile page so that your connections will be able to enjoy seeing at a glance the types and genres of projects you are developing.
Also using the above menu link for Script Services you can see a database of available industry executives who will schedule calls (a fee-based service with various pricing levels) with you to hear your pitch, read your scripts, and give you direct advice on multiple pathways to production for your potential projects.
The more you read and listen and watch videos etc. the more you will notice many opportunities of various time frames.
See the Mission Statement at the bottom of this site page to get a clear idea of the community focus and I feel sure that you will enjoy a positive and productive experience!
As a screenwriter I've been here on Stage 32 for about a year and a half, I began following the film industry from the sidelines back in 2009, at this point I've written a novel, 7 feature scripts in various genres, and am now shooting a micro-budget proof-of-concept reel to share promotionally on social media later this year.
Click on the red box top right for The Writers' Room, it's a small subscription fee and opens the video archive vault, submitting for writing assignments and a community of meeting for zoom calls, webinars and connections.
Great best wishes to you for creative momentum and commercial success!

I would form a team of key crew members (dp, prod designer, producer, casting director, editor) and then approach a company for funding.

I agree with Dan, yes you can go through competitions, but it is both a lengthy and hit and miss process, and very disheartening. I know, I have tried it.
It is better, as Dan MaxXx says, to form a team, and then start a company around the film, e.g. FilmTitle Ltd., and then get crowdfunding via A-shares and B-shares.
A-shares are usually reserved for minimum investments of GBP10k and will pay dividends every 6 mths of ALL sales incl. merchandising for 3 years, after which people can cash in their shares.
B-shares are to be held for at least 3 years and then you get a share of the profit, and they are for investments between GBP2.5k to 9k.
You can look into having the film meet the requirements of EIS (Enterprise Investment Scheme) or SEIS (Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme), where tax paying investors can get up to 50% of their investment back from the government, before the film is even making money.
This means, that they can get half their money back at the end of the tax year they invested in the film. You just send them out the claim form at the end of the tax year (5th. of April).
Hope this helps.

My buddy wrote his first feature spec...action lines are in Macedonian while 75% dialogue is in German (where the the story sets)...said him, no, gotta unify it. It'll either be full in Macedonian, full in German or full in English...can't expect decision makers or festival readers to be multilingual wunderkinds as well...point is, make it Hindu and start India...if the subject is global it'll concern them as well...
Since my last comment, I have come across a site called mysmash.media where you can register your scripts as available, by hitting share once you have completed all the details about the script. However, if you go in again, and make a slight modification to your logline, you can also hit call-out, and see what registered companies are looking for, e.g. sci-fi, rom-com, murder, horror etc. feature or short film. The good thing about THAT website is that writers/content creators, can offer their material, without having to pay £300 for pitching to people who want what you have to offer, It is the decision makers, producers, and directors, that have to pay to access the website and register their call outs. This way, you only pitch to those who are looking for material that you have on offer, and if there are more than one company looking for what you got, pitch to them all, and if two or more get back to you, see who makes the best offer, and I don't mean just moneywise, but also if you want to retain the publishing rites, if you have made it into a book, or want to register it also as a stage play as well as screenplay, to earn residuals.
Good luck.
