Empathy and Acting

"Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another."

~ Alfred Adler

Empathy is one of the most valuable traits that an actor can have in order to effectively step into the life of a character.

Empathy is the breath of every role.

Great post Tammy. I believe empathy is a great trait for all of us!

Agreed. Great reminder!

So true, Tammy Hunt!

The world would be different if we all walked in that. Nicely said. Applies to writers as well.

So true Tammy. I don't think many actors get far along in the craft without empathy. Mimicry only takes you so far.
