Screenwriting : Connecting with creatives from other nations by Wayne Cothron

Connecting with creatives from other nations

I just got finished reading an informative blog post here on Stage 32 about having a key to international markets and it got me to thinking, I've always wanted to connect with creative people from other nations, so that I can learn what they know and become a better screenwriter.

Have a nice weekend.

Debbie Croysdale

@Wayne I agree & have had some cool collaborations here despite being in UK.

Richard "RB" Botto

You're thinking right, Wayne. Worth noting, 50% of our membership is non-US. The community is growing by leaps and bounds internationally. Now is the time to dig in.

Geoff Hall

Hi Wayne Cothron how are you doing? I live in Bristol, UK. How long have you been screenwriting? What genres do you like?

Maurice Vaughan

I've connected with creatives in different countries through Stage 32, Wayne Cothron. I sold four short scripts to a producer in Belgium back in 2020. I also worked with a producer/writer in Poland on a short script back in 2022. To me, building relationships/networking with U.S. creatives is about the same as building relationships/networking with foreign creatives.

Hello Geoff Hall and everyone, else in the sound of this post..

I've been working on a combination of short film scripts and two feature films.

Before, that I was working on T.V. series. That I hope people in the U.K. would enjoy because I love so many U.K T.V. shows.

Maurice Vaughan

What genres are your short scripts and features, Wayne Cothron?

Wayne Cothron

My short scripts are comedy and horror but both of them involve Bigfoot.

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Wayne Cothron. How far along are you on your short scripts?

Stephanie Munch

Nice to meet you Stephanie Munch

I hope your podcast is successful.

How are things going in France?

Wayne Cothron

To answer your question Maurice Vaughan , I'm in the editing process with both scripts.

Here's hoping I don't lose my mind.

Stephanie Munch

I've just finished my screenwriting course with the film school, I can't wait to start producing the podcast, good luck with the editing, let us know how it goes !

Wayne Cothron

A word of warning though my French is not the best.

Marcel Nault Jr.

Meeting people from all over the world is interesting in and of itself. No matter where you are from, there's always a story to tell. :)

Stephanie Munch

I will Wayne :) and don't worry it will be in english !

Marcel: you're so right - storytelling bring us together and I think it's wonderful

I just finished reading the blog post that Maurice Vaughan suggested and it was very informative, especially the part about sleeping on it.

Of course, I always called it letting an idea ferment, like a good beer.
