Introduce Yourself : Hey! by Renata de Paula Seus

Renata de Paula Seus

Hey!

Hello guys! My name is Renata, I'm from Brazil but currently living in NYC. It's been a while since I joined Stage32, but finally I took this big step to take my project out of my personal space and put myself as a writer. I'm happy to get access to this amazing website, it is helping me a lot to improve my writing. Unfortunately I'm a bit stuck in one of my scripts, it's like a blank space in my mind when it's about to continue the story. If anyone can help me, I will be happy to listen.

Matthew Parvin

Welcome Renata! Nice tomeet you. Glad you're here.

John Mezes

Hi Renata! Glad you returned to your script. That's your inner voice saying, "finish it, Renata!" Here's some advice for writers block, which sounds like what your experiencing. Take a walk outside, anywhere, and clear your mind. New sights and sensations are a great temporary distraction. Write anything other than your project. Exercise your mind doing what you love, writing, without restriction and tunnel vision on your project. You'll find that writing something different than the script your suffering from writers block on might trigger new thoughts for the project. Sleep on it, because rest is a powerful ally in what you do, write. Recharging your internal clock and maybe, hopefully, dreaming about your script (yes, I've done that, LOL) are great gifts to give yourself. Most importantly, Don’t beat yourself up. Give yourself a pass, and have faith. It will come back. Good luck!

Nice to meet you, Renata. Congratulations on taking that big step! Did you outline your script before writing it? An outline can help guide your script so you know where your story is headed.

Thanks John! Yesterday I did some workout and start a new project too, thank you very much for your advice!

Renata de Paula Seus

Hi Maurice! Yes I did, and it's helping me to not get lost on the main story. It just the development of the main conflict that I stuck. But thanks for the help :)
