On Writing : What next? by Tim Ramsey

What next?

Hi. I wrote four books in my Tom Curran mystery series and ghostwrote one by Yolanda Maria De Icaza entitled "Assassin Key." (Diana Diaz, a retired female assassin living in the Florida Keys is thrust back into her old life forced to deal with a threat from an old enemy) Would we be better off creating the screenplay of the latest book, pursuing agents in women's fiction, or writing the next Diana Diaz book in series?

Hi Tim Ramsey - I agree with Ty and D.E. - what are you ultimate goals for your writing career? And when it comes to pitching a film in Hollywood based on a book, the data of the book's performance will be looked at, including who published the book and how it was marketed. A lot goes into that decision making.

As you are considering this, here's a Stage 32 webinar on the book adaptation journey that I recommend checking out - Mickey Levy is a wealth of information on this topic: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/The-Adaptation-Journey-Adapting-an-exis...

Hi Tim! What's the dream? There's no one right way. However, you can write the screenplay while you query literary agents. If none of these have been published yet and that's the goal, I would be seeking representation if that's your goal.
