Screenwriting : Got space? in your stories? by Pamela Jaye Smith

Got space? in your stories?

Here’s a great resource for Mars exploration and space travel and colonization in general. https://www.marssociety.org/

You can access the recordings of their Annual Convention here –

I presented at the Conference a few years ago about using Archetypes to select teams.

Was really impressed with the wide range of talks and exhibits and presentations, from aquaponics to construction, psychology to space law, terra-forming to the place of art off planet.

They even have analogue habitats in the desert and the arctic and you can apply to be a team member for a session. Sounds really fascinating, and challenging.

Do check it out. Onward and Upward! for your stories and who know, maybe someday for yourself.

Thanks, @Pamela Jaye Smith. I bookmarked the page and recordings in case I ever write a script that takes place on Mars.

Debbie Croysdale

@Pamela Thanks for the share. I often wonder why there are not more stories about space after all it’s er…infinite. Recently I wrote a sci fi & researched how an astronaut lives physically & psychologically in a cramped space.

Robin Gregory

Hey @Pamela, thank you kindly for sharing this incredible resource.

Debbie, you should find some relevant info at the Mars Society site. Good luck with your story.

Patricia Stepp

I look forward to reading this! Thank you for this information. I can supplement what I have in my current project! So many possibilities here could be added to my script as I finish it! Im jazzed again .

Pamela Jaye Smith This will be a fun read, thanks for sharing, Pamela Jaye.

The only time I’ve used archetypes in my writing, was in a TV series pilot where I had a team of spies, counter-intelligence agents, based on four of Jung’s archetypes. It was a fun process and added to the dynamics of character and plot building.

The Archetypes I used were: The Trickster, The Wise Mother, The Child and The Heroine.

Wishing out out-of-this-world luck with your project, Patricia.

You must have enjoyed using these patterns, Geoff. They sure can help bring internal integrity to your characters. Good luck with all your projects.

Geoff Hall

Pamela Jaye Smith thanks, Pamela. It added extra flavour to the characters as well as helped inform me of their motives. Just pressing on, as ever. No bites yet.
