I’ve just watched this fascinating and exciting documentary, via my IG account, called ‘The Need to Grow’, by Rob Herring and Ryan Wirick. My new heroes are Michael Smith, Erik Cutter and the Serratos family and you’ll see why.
This is a compelling story about food security and soil regeneration, for an earth with an estimated 60 years of food growing potential left.
I’m reminded of what Karen Armstrong had to say about storytelling:
“Story...is not about opting out of this world, but about enabling us to live more intensely within it.” — Source - Karen Armstrong, ‘A Short History of Myth’.
And this is an empowering story, which you can watch for free (for the next three days) by just following this link. Be aware. Live more intensely.

Asmaa Jamil Thank you Asmaa, when you look at the cause and effect that the Big Agro companies have had on the earth, it’s frightening. However, Michael Smith and Erik Cutter show me that there’s hope for planet Earth!

Yes, Geoff Hall , I saw it, too. Warms the heart to know that such thoughtful folks are working outside the box, doesn't it?

Robin Gregory yes, Robin. It was great to see a ray of light on this subject matter and that there are specific resolutions to the problem. These people were amazing for the resilience in the face of all sorts of problems, including arson!

This documentary could be the compost (excuse the pun) for a fantastic, eye-opening dramatic film. The totally sustainable, zero emission bio-plant provided agricultural products as well as free power to the surrounding community. Lots of push-back from the local ag and power companies -- zero support from government. Yikes. When it burned to the ground, arson was suspected arson but couldn't be proven. Even if the mystery were left unsolved, as in Erin Brockovich, questions need to be asked.
