I think it's great that the Oscars will be adding a category to recognize casting directors, Richard "RB" Botto. Picking the cast is a huge part of filmmaking and a film's success.

Just saw this as well! I know so many great CD's, and their work is so integral to the process. This is a well deserved and exciting new category.

Absolutely about time. So many people ask "how did they get that cast?" or "where did they find that actor?"... its the amazing work of CDs!

Hello:
When one views into the casting of The Office and Michael Scott, the casting director nailed the casting with Steve Carell. Though tons could have done fantastic - he truly embodied the ambiance of Michael Scott.
Castin directors are the gem unsung.
