Hi folks, I've been a member of Stage 32 since 2015, but I've honestly never quite utilised it until recently, so thought I'd better do a new introduction, as well as a hello to some of you who already know me from Twitter/X and Instagram.
So, I'm Chris Watt, a screenwriter and script consultant, based in Aberdeen, Scotland. I've been working professionally now for over five years, with my first feature film screenwriting credit having come in 2022, when we premiered the film STALKER at Frightfest. That film starred Sophie Skelton (Outlander) and BAFTA winner Stuart Brennan, and ended up being released in theatres in the U.S. before finding its home on DVD and digital.
My second feature film credit is THE MIRE, a psychological thriller that was shot on a low budget in 2021, and following a sold out premiere, is now about to be released on digital platforms all over the world.
I've won a few awards over the years, and my last two projects placed as finalists and semi-finalists at the Shore Scripts Screenwriting competition.
In my capacity as a script consultant, I have worked with BFI Film Labs, up in Aberdeen, aiding students as they write their own scripts, as well as working as a consultant for a handful of Screenwriting Competitions and I am currently giving talks to screenwriting students at various colleges and universities.
I am currently in development on three projects with U.K. production companies (including a TV series), and I am looking to connect with producers, production companies and directors, as I am open to commissions and have a number of screenplays available to option.
I am currently un-repped, so I am also interested in talking to agents and agencies that might be interested in my next projects.
Feel free to give my profile a browse, take a look at some of the trailers for my past work, check out my IMDB and feel free to get in touch.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better.
Chris W.

Hi Chris, how is life in Aberdeen - other than cold!? It's great to see you on the Stage32 IYW. We joined in the same year, it seems. I'm a writer, director and producer from Bristol - but originally from the North-East of England. I currently have my first feature in development (Seeing Rachel), which was optioned by a UK Production Company. I wish you well with your projects. Have a great week.

Hey @Chris great to meet you and congrats on your upcoming film release! It's a magical thing to see your movie on the big screen and no small feat to get it out into the world! Give yourself a bunch of big pats on the back and good job by you!

Thanks Sam Sokolow and likewise, nice to connect. The projects I have in development are actually dramas, and a dramedy, but the script I’m in the middle of writing right now is a thriller, in the vein of things like Panic Room and The Conversation. Hoping to get some interest in it as potentially a next project for Steve Johnson to direct (he directed Stalker and we’re keen to work together on something with more room to play with characters and action).
Good to see you on here too, Chris Watt. The poster for "Stalker" is incredible! You might've told me before, but who made it?

Hi Pat Alexander Nice to connect. It’s always a great (albeit surreal) experience to see your work in the big screen, here’s to many more for all of us!
To respond to your question, Maurice Vaughan I can't remember the name of the designer of our poster, but it was done within the marketing department of our UK distributors, Kaleidoscope, and I agree, it's a cracker. I remember the first time I was sent it to have a look at and I was so excited, thinking that will look great on a dvd box.
And it turns out it did!
