Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend, Amanda Toney! I'm most excited for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice." "Bird" is on my list too. I don't know much about "Bird" though. That's how I like it when I see a new movie.
Maurice Vaughan for me it was Dune: Part Two, but The Zone of Interest was great, as was Civil War. The next film that I'm looking forward to see, is Nic Cage in Arcadian.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of those, Geoff Hall, especially "Civil War." I'm not sure if I've heard of "The Zone of Interest" though.
Thanks for sharing the "Arcadian" trailer. I saw a trailer for it a while back, but I forgot about the movie. I guess that shows the importance of releasing a trailer again before a movie comes out.
Maurice Vaughan The Zone of Interest won a best international film Oscar this year, Maurice. It's a film by Jonathan Glazer, about the Camp Commandant at Auschwitz. You may remember the furore that his acceptance speech caused at the Oscars?
Hi Maurice Vaughan! There are SO many. Hmmm... The new Mad Max, Gladiator, Joker, Beetlejuice, and Wicked movies come to mind. In other words, if it's derivative, I'm there!
I'm a big fan of the Mad Max universe. The first Mad Max is a classic, The Road Warrior blew the doors off my brain when it came out, and Mad Max: Fury Road is a masterpiece. Thunderdome had issues but nobody bats a thousand and there were still memorable takeaways. So Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a movie I am jazzed for and will go see on the biggest screen it comes out on.
I've read No Film School's articles, but I'm not sure if I've listened to their podcast, Opal Morningstar. Thanks for the idea. Keep writing and moving toward success too!
I liked all of the "Mad Max" movies, Sam Sokolow. I watched the trailer for "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" the other day. It looks intense! Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth are incredible actors! Looking forward to checking it out.
Yes, Maurice Vaughan! It's based off the Broadway Musical, which was based off the book by Gregory Maguire. The first half is sort of a prequel to The Wizard of Oz that ends up in the second half running parallel to that story's plot.
Yeah, "Godzilla x Kong" is one of those movies that's made for theaters, Leonardo Ramirez. I missed "Godzilla Minus One" in theaters. It's coming to streaming next month.
I haven't heard of those movies, Robin Gregory. They're on my watchlist now. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing "Frybread Face & Me." What a title!
I didn't know "Rush Hour 4" came out this year, Jill Godley. That's definitely on my list now! And definitely "Twisters." I loved watching "Twister" growing up. Also "Bad Boys 4." This is my first time hearing about "Mufasa."
I can't wait, Jill Godley! I watched trailers for some of the movies that are coming out this year, but I might skip the other trailers. I also dodge a lot of promo. I like to find out what a movie is about as I watch it.
I'm looking forward to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Sasquatch Sunset, Civil War (even though it received mediocre reviews) and A Family Affair - love the cast.
I'm looking forward to "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" too, Kristina Van Kirk Hoffman! I just looked up "A Family Affair." Incredible cast! "Sasquatch Sunset" looks exciting!
Maurice Vaughan and @Geoff Hall, I found The Zone of Interest profoundly disturbing. Depiction of Auschwitz in the most implicit and visceral way imaginable - through sound, conversational references, antithetical contrasts, i.e., country idyll, pounding industrial noise, kids' laughing and playing, gunshots, barking, smoke, distant shouts and screams. A mid-screen wall between an SS officer's flower garden and Auschwitz hides the atrocities we all know are happening behind it. I could hardly bear to watch or listen to it.
I just looked up "The Zone of Interest," Robin Gregory. It does sound like it's really rough to watch. Movies like this drain me. I'm not sure if I'll watch it.
Cool, Scott Sawitz. I see the similarities between those two movies. I didn't know "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" was a Guy Ritchie movie until just now.

I can't wait for the new "Beetlejuice," Ashley Renee Smith! "Wicked" looks interesting. I don't know a lot about it though. Is it a Musical?

Cool, Ashley Renee Smith. I didn't really like Musicals, but "Wonka" made me like them more.

CIVIL WAR was a good film. Not a great one. Yet it's worth the trip.
Are there any other movies you're looking forward to seeing this year, E Langley?

If I don't get to see "Godzilla x Kong" in theaters, Leonardo Ramirez, I'll do a double feature with "Godzilla Minus One" on streaming.
Great idea, Maurice Vaughan. If you do, you’ll have to let me know. I’d love to know what you thought of G-1.

Maurice Vaughan, it takes an Act of Congress to get my butt out and into a theater seat. So, not in theatrical release.
Otherwise. C'mon! Wolverine and Deadpool, of course. KINDS OF KINDNESS. ALIEN: ROMULUS. When they stream.

I cannot choose right now. Too many good ones.

It's a good year when there are new Apes, Alien and Mad Max movies coming out Maurice Vaughan!
Yeah, Nick Phillips. Combine those three and you'll get a wild movie: "Mad Alien Apes" Haha

I'm the same way, Maurice Vaughan. I can't even watch horror films :--).
I can watch Horror movies, Robin Gregory, but it's really hard to watch super gory movies like "Saw." I've only seen like two "Saw" movies.
