Paramount and Skydance Agree to Deal Terms as Merger Inches Closer, Shares Rise Over 7%

Ashley Renee Smith

How wild! I wasn't sure that this deal was going to come together. It's going to be a very interesting next few years.

Amanda Toney

Wow... I haven't tracked this in a while, thanks for the update. I am so curious to understand what will happen if this goes through.

Sean T. Clark

Than ks for the update, RB!

Sean T. Clark

A Real life Succession! :)

Richard "RB" Botto

Absolutely. Much more to come apparently.

William Joseph Hill

Sean T. Clark makes a good point about this being a real-life Succession! It's like a prime time soap drama.

Sean T. Clark

Thanks for the love, y’all! I’m also struck by the immense pressure she must be feeling/the many lives impacted by this One decision!

Many, many variables in play here, Sean T. Clark. Every potential suitor seems to value a different piece.

Sam Sokolow

Holy cow, Richard "RB" Botto. I hoped they were going to get this done this time. My heart is with the creative community. Paramount and its tentacles are active buyers and pretty much at a standstill over this in terms of hearing pitches and buying original ideas. I hope they figure this out.

Complicated deal with many moving parts, Sam Sokolow. Like the Waystar Royco deal. Sheri seems a bit unsure like the Roy children. Wouldn't shock me to see Skydance back in the mix if this continues to drag out. Although at this point with so many others circling, perhaps we'll see Lukas Matsson and GoJo enter the fray.

Sam Sokolow

If nothing else, Jesse Armstong may have his next show.

Xochi Blymyer

So interesting.

Sean T. Clark

Not only are creatives suffering from Paramount's slow down in buying content, but make no mistake, Paramount will cut departments to skeleton crews to trim costs and satisfy shareholders. Let's grab the opportunity in the chaos to make a legit offer for BET. Short of court-ordered (asset-damaging) sale, it will never be cheaper, has up and running infrastructure, & without reputation-hurting / re-brandabilty. What investment group within S32 has the gas to put a team/offer in play for this life-changing opportunity?! Come on - Due diligence couldn't be that tough with this well-known brand!

Seriously!
