I’m a highly experienced Feature and TV Writer. My elevated Holiday Rom-Com, MERRILY ALL THE WAY, is now in Pre-Production, with Producers Kristen Lucas, Jim Langlois, and Tim Misenheimer of Collab Content Entertainment. Going into production December 2024.
My life is a satirical comedy driven by my favorite phrase: “What could possibly go wrong?” Serendipity steps in when things do go wrong and always leads me to the thing I should’ve been headed toward in the first place. My many misadventures & awkward exploits led me to discover my brand: Heartfelt Dramedy, for Series & Features, about misfits struggling to become the heroes of their own lives.
Growing-up just outside of Philadelphia, I needed my wild imagination to create fun & mayhem. It got me into a lot of trouble though, like that time, when I was 10 and I stole my parents' car to take my little sister for ice-cream. (we made it as far as the neighbor’s front yard); or when I launched myself down a steep, busy street in a plywood go-cart with no brakes; or, after setting out on my own at 17, my two summers as an amateur stock car driver.
At The Minneapolis College of Art & Design. I worked three part-time jobs to pay for school, graduating with a double-major in Film Production and Graphic Design.
I went to work for Twin Cities PBS and won a Regional Emmy for Production Design plus 3 Broadcast Design Awards.
Started in features as the Lead Graphic Designer for Alan Rudolph's, EQUINOX, starring Matthew Modine, then got the chance to be the Lead Graphic Designer for Production Designer, Ruth Ammon, (STATION ELEVEN) on Lona William's SUGAR & SPICE and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.
I lucked into working with Production Designer, Rick Heinrichs, as the Lead Graphic Designer for Joel & Ethan Coen’s FARGO and THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Afterwards, Rick invited me to work with Tim Burton on SUPERMAN LIVES (unfinished). I designed three key “S” logos. Two of which are still in use today.
I set my sights on screenwriting, trained with Blake Snyder and then Jen Grisanti and was short-listed in both the NBC and ABC TV Writers Showcases. I’m a three-time Semi-Finalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Competition. A two-time Top-5 Winner for Best Screenplay at Screamfest LA. Two time Second-Rounder at Austin Film Festival. A Top Ten Finalist at Cinestory.
2023: SOLARPUNKS VS. THE ANNIHILATION ULTIMATUM, my grounded Sci-Fi Pilot, became a Semifinalist in the Stage 32 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Screenwriting Contest and landed on Coverfly’s Red List for reaching the Top 3% of all Sci-Fi scripts (and remains in the Top 3%).
My Dramedy TV Pilot, I’M FINE... AND OTHER LIES (co-created with the incredible Lee Wilcox) was a 2021 Top Ten Finalist in Roadmap Writers Top Tier Competition.
3 DARING NOBODIES, my Coming-of-Age True Story Sports Action feature script became Amazon Studios Best Screenplay Competition Semi-Finalist.
My Horror Family-Action feature, TUTTLESON'S GHOSTS: SEAL OF ELYSIUM, was a 2nd Place Winner, Screamfest LA (2005), (as SERAPHIM).
