SYNOPSIS:
Philly Paramedic, Jordan Ames, grew-up with two ghost-kids from the 80's as his best friends. When he uses the prototype ghost-tech he built to help them reunite with their parents in the afterlife, he accidentally leads them into the grip of an escaped Demon, (possessing a Doctor), who needs their souls to buy his permanent freedom from the underworld.
Jordan demonstrates what he's been working on to his girlfriend, Detective Lexi Burke, hoping they can rescue the ghost-kids together.
Jordan battles the Demon-Doctor, rescues the ghost-kids, but is fatally injured. The Demon Doctor escapes with a new plan, to collect the souls of more children, and unleash the entire underworld.
Jordan takes his last breath in Lexi’s arms. Lexi uses the ghost-tech and sees him emerge as a ghost. She witnesses Jordan meet his Father's ghost and learn about his supernatural origin, he's a Nephilim (his Mother, who he wishes he could remember, was a Fallen Angel).
Even as a ghost, Jordan has incredible abilities. He’s got one last chance to stop the Demon-Doctor from collecting and using the souls of a new group of children to unleash the underworld.
With Lexi’s help, Jordan uses his new abilities within the Cathedral of St. Peter’s Secret Library, to find the last existing Guardian Sword, extract the phantom sword within, then use it to destroy the Demon Doctor.
Jordan wields the phantom sword in an epic battle against the Demon-Doctor and ultimately delivers the Demon back to hell.
Jordan’s ghost is restored to human form as a Soul Guardian. Together, Jordan and Lexi are responsible for safeguarding lost souls from demonic harm, helping them resolve unfinished business, and guiding them into the light.

Schemers Entertainment, Manager, David Binns, wrote: “I enjoy a good Amblin-esque, GHOSTBUSTERS-style, horror feature. THE PARAMEDIC is a great representation of your voice, while also showing your cross-genre range.”
THE PARAMEDIC Won 2nd Place Best Screenplay, at Screamfest LA. (as THE SERAPHIM) in 2005. Screamfest LA was co-founded by Producer, Rachel Belofsky and the legendary Stan Winston. Stan pulled me aside and excitedly made me promise to let Industrial Light and Magic design and create the supernatural investigation gadgets and special effects.
Quarterfinalist, ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenwriting Competition 2021 (TUTTLESON'S GHOSTS)
INSPIRATION - More than ever the world needs big-hearted heroes like real-life Philly Paramedic, Lawrence Amaker, (2017 Paramedic of the Year, Philadelphia), who reminds me a lot of Actor, Sam Richardson. Lawrence took me on a haunting ride-along to the locations of his most terrifying experiences. He quietly shared his wish that he could’ve somehow helped all the kids who couldn't be saved.
I went looking for a ghost story, and I found the hero who inspired: THE PARAMEDIC.
WHY ME - Growing-up just outside of Philadelphia, I needed my wild imagination to create fun & mayhem. It got me into a lot of trouble though, like that time, when I was 10 and I stole my parents' car to take my little sister for ice-cream. (we made it as far as the neighbor’s front yard); or when I launched myself down a steep, busy street in a plywood go-kart I'd built with no brakes; or, after setting out on my own at 17, my two summers as an amateur stock car driver.
Life’s misadventures, and years of being told what’s out of my reach, led me to discover my brand: Heartfelt Dramedy, for Features and Series, about misfits struggling to become who they were always meant to be.
I've been lucky to study with Blake Snyder, Jen Grisanti, Jessica Bendinger, and now the wonderful Holiday RomCom Writer, Carley Smale.
I was the Lead Graphic Designer for several wonderful feature films including two Academy Award Winners. I fell in love with storytelling, started screenwriting, won Top Ten and Cinestory and lunch with Christopher McQuarrie. Won 2nd Place and Top Five Best Screenplay at ScreamfestLA, and became an Amazon Studios Best Screenplay Competition Semi-Finalist. Was short-listed in both the NBC and ABC TV Writers Showcases. And so much more...
