Paranormal activity

Just saw a theatre play in Yorkshire UK that blew me away. Confinement of a stage location did not lessen excitement/dread/lure in comparison to any of the films. Recent stage production updates all tech & even got Alexa in script but the intensity if anything has grown since first shown by Blumhouse 2007. Superb performances by Melissa James & Patrick Heusinger & an unexpected twist end. Something I’ve not seen before on leaving any theatre, staff were holding up billboards not to give spoilers away. LOL That’s why did not put story end here but if anyone wants to know private message me!

Live theatre can definitely make the horror genre even more intense than the movies -- since you're there in person, the suspension of disbelief makes the scary stuff scarier! I used to perform in a yearly Halloween live theater festival called "Wicked Lit" where we performed n a cemetery and mausoleum, so the vibe was perfect . And a lot of the theatrical tricks go all the way back to the 19th century and earlier.

I was just thinking about how little there is in great modern theatrical horror. Plenty of shows have horror elements, but I am talking about a horror movie on stage. I really want to see this now.

I wish people wouldn't say there's an "unexpected twist end" to a film or performance. If I went to see said film/performance, I'd then be expecting the twist end. Let people find out for themselves.

@David E I mentioned the twist end in comparison to the climax of whole film franchise. Not all productions in any series have a twist end and not all audiences expect one. I've seen many performances where a planned twist end was mediocre. All I meant is they pulled it off.

Fun Fact: The original movie's original ending was the screen going black while the audience continues to hear the crunching and chewing sounds of the man being devoured. Steven Speilberg recommended the jump scare ending in the theatrical release. I guess when Speilberg gives you a note, you take it.
