I signed up for 2 pitches this past weekend for my holiday script- CHRIS MESS.- one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The one on Saturday was not too good. The producer didn't seem really interested in my script, kind of ho hum, but gve me some good notes about my PITCH. I listened, i incorporated them into my Sunday pitch. THAT producer was blown away and asked right then and there to read the script, I didn't even have to wait for the results! So remember to turn lemons into lemonade and keep pitching!

We see it so often in this business. A script is not for one person, then the next person loves it! No two tastes are alike and material won't always automatically connect. The key is to keep pushing to find the people who do like what you've got!

Thank you, Pat and Maurice! I was kinda disappointed on Saturday, but I reread my notes on what she said, realized they were valid, incoporated them and BOY! Did they work!

You're welcome, D A Stenard. I've been there with pitch notes. Glad the first notes helped your pitch and led to a request! I hope the request leads to a sale and more!

Love that even though the pitch didn't go as you would have liked, D A Stenard, you didn't let it get you down and, instead, you took the notes, applied them and reaped the rewards. That's a winning approach, my friend. Best wishes with the read! Well earned!

Thanks, everyone! I carefully went over the script this morning, to make sure it was perfect and sent it off. I know it can take some time for the producer to get back to me, but I promise to circle back and let everyone know what happened,

I remember pitching a novel I had written at a writer's conference about 12 years ago. The pitch went so poorly I shut down and flubbed the second pitch as well. I decided then and there I was going to bounce back. Your story is a model for anyone who is going through this process. Congrats and way to be resilient!

Thank you everyone, for responding. For some reason, i do not get many hits on my "X" account, on my Instagram or on my Threads. I don't why. I do not fee seen on these platforms. I REALLY feel seen here and by people who's opinions I respect and appreciate. So thanks for THAT! And if anyone wants to follow me on any of those sites, my handle is: debiswritingherstuff

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. And here is my secret. I do a phone call, not a Skype. And I have my pitch printed out in front of me, so I can always hit my beats. And I practice sounding casual, so I don't sound like I am a robot reading a script. That's what a BFA in theatre will do for ya!
