Incredible share, Xochi Blymyer! "Impatience is the single most devastating emotion a writer can have. It’s not only stifling in and of itself, but it spawns so many other negative emotions right along with it." Max is right. Being impatient when waiting to hear back about a query letter, a job, etc. can lead to anger, sadness, etc. That's why I like to send it/apply for it and forget it. Doing that helps me not think about the query letter, job, etc., which keeps me from getting impatient and helps me enjoy the process.
