Character Development

Hi Everyone!

Need some assistance...I'm writing on this new idea for a film and I want to build on character development. Would anyone have a template for character development? I have so many thoughts in my head, that it would be easier if there is a template I can follow.

Thank you in advance!

Cameron Tendaji

Easiest way is just to think about how your character is before the story starts, when the story starts, and how you want them to end up changed at the end. How they end up changing is the character development

Here is a Hallmark Christmas template.

hey Adriana, I would recommend the Warner Loughlin Technique, she has a book that details character development really well. actors and writers use it! i love it!

Pat Alexander

The formula is change over time. Challenge your characters innermost wants. Make the find solutions or compromises. Have them evolve

Robert Drusetta

I have developed something similar to Maurice. I also write down "What is the first thing my character does in the morning?" "What is the last thing my character does before going to bed at night?"
