Please fill me in on OWAS. I would like to know where on the site can I find the figures on OWAS. I would like to know how many OWAS have led to an industry agreements with Producers/or Production companies over a time period, such as the current year. Thank you.
Hi, Rebecca James. I don't think if there's a place on Stage 32 where you can find the figures on OWAs, but you can read some of the OWA successful stories here: www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories

In the past few weeks, a bunch of writers have taken general meetings from OWA selections. At that point, it's kinda up to the writer. Stage 32 can't physically will productions into existence. Would be cool if they could though haha. However, if you're looking for a new horror film to watch this Halloween season, check out BAGHEAD (2024) on AMC+ which was written by a writer (Christina Pamies) who won a contest and connected with a manager (Jake Wagner) here at Stage 32 that ended up getting her the writing assignment for that film. All I'm saying is... a good meeting one day can always turn into a legit writing assignment down the road

That's great, Pat Alexander! Christina Pamies is having an AMA in the Writers' Room Friday. Can't wait for it! I just signed up for AMC+ to see The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, which I'm watching right now. I'm gonna check out Baghead.

Rebecca - There have not been any production deals as a result of an OWA.

Apologies for being so ignorant. What is OWAS?

The OWAs are part of Stage 32's Writers' Room, Graham Mulvein. The OWAs on here are a little different than traditional open writing assignments. Here's more about Stage 32's OWAs: https://support.stage32.com/hc/en-us/articles/8183283651732-What-is-an-O...
