Researching comps for a feature film

I am researching comps for the screenplay I wrote described as a Spy/Thriller. So, I go on IMDB and can find 20 or so films in this subgenre. What selection criteria should I focus on?

Should I avoid films over 10 years old?

Should I select based on awards?

How many comps is enough for a pitch deck?

Of course, the production budget would be a concern but I don’t see that information.

Hi, Greg Cox. I try to pick comps that are recent. I also pick comps that have a similar tone as my script and comps that did well at the box office. Sometimes I use streaming originals as comps. I use three comps in my pitch decks. You can find production budgets on Wikipedia, but they might not be the actual budgets.
