Introduce Yourself : Hello, Stage 32! by James Doane

James Doane

Hello, Stage 32!

I’m James Doane, a media composer with a passion for creating music that brings stories to life. My journey began with classical guitar, where I fell in love with the power of melody and harmony to convey emotion. That early foundation in music sparked a lifelong passion, leading me to explore composition and orchestration for film, television, and video games.

Over the years, I’ve discovered how much I enjoy collaborating with filmmakers and game developers to enhance their vision through music. Recently, I scored a short film (I Found You) and am currently composing for a 2D platformer game. Both experiences have reinforced my love for storytelling through sound—whether it’s a quiet piano theme or an epic orchestral moment.

I’m here to connect, collaborate, and learn from this amazing community of creatives. If you’re a filmmaker, producer, or developer looking for a composer who’s passionate about serving the story, I’d love to hear about your projects and how I can contribute.

I just listened to your Opening Scene Rescore for The Last of Us 2. It's incredible! I don’t remember the original score for the opening scene, but yours fits the opening perfectly.
