About Mariluz

I'm an indigenous Kankuama woman from a small city of Colombia. Valledupar. With really warm weather, cold tap water and late December's seasons of strong winds that inspired my searching through the audiovisual arts, through my creative work I recognize the inner shadows and lights for the inner and outer harmony which is the most important work of each human being. With this paradigm I can share different forms of self and collective expression through the Healing Cinema, always searching for better ways to support changes in the detrimental beliefs of our society. Always towards the light.

Here in Stage 32 I'm open to connect with likeminded filmmakers, actors, crew. Those who want to make a positive impact in this, our beloved planet.

  • Body Stories: Menstrual Cycle

    Body Stories: Menstrual Cycle (2023)
Film (short) by Body Stories Project Inc Actress, Director This 1-minute short film was developed during the Hack Mafiz contest of ‪the Malaga Film Festival‬. The self portrait challenge. Here I am narrating about all the changes that I go through my menstrual cycle: from the slow menstruation, the sharp and fast pre-ovulatory stage, the sensuality of the ovulatory, to the rebellion of the pre-menstrual stage. I feel deeply connected with the waves of my menstrual cycle. Before saying this today I had to go through a process of self awareness, reconnection with my indigenous roots (Kankuama), constant observation and wonder for what is considered the fifth vital sign and one of the most powerful expressions of us human females.
