Heretic - Screenplay/Movie

Sometimes I will find the screenplay of the movie I want to see and read it first before I watch the movie.  So several nights ago I found  it online and couldn't wait to read it.

If you haven't heard of it. It's about - Two young missionaries become ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they knock on the door of the diabolical Mr. Reed. Trapped in his home, they must turn to their faith if they want to make it out alive.

I saw the trailer and was intrigued. When I began reading I got so engrossed into the story I read it in an hour.

It is very well written and the writers sometimes will just simply speak to the reader.  But this story drew me in, the characters are well drawn out, it's disturbing and was so thought provoking that I've thought about it after for days.

The ending will have your jaw dropped to the floor because...well, you'll have to see the movie and read it for yourself.

Now I'll make one thing clear it has  A LOT of dialogue, but it all has a purpose. Mr. Reed the antagonist played by Hugh Hefner is absolutely well crafted and  a great adversary. He has an very high IQ and that is is also his weakness. I'll not say much more if anyone would like to check it out.

A24 makes some awesome movies, btw.

Ron Richman

Fantastic film with lots of suspense and mood setting. I'd be curious to see how it was done in the script. But I don't think Hugh Hefner rose up from the dead to act in the film. ;P

Maurice Vaughan

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie and reading the script, John C. Bounds, mainly to study Mr. Reed.

Pat Alexander

Still need to read the script, but it's a great movie! Although Hef would've added another dimension of horror to the proceedings lmao

Sam Rivera

Haven't read and watched it yet but I prefer the reverse order and seeing what changed in the movie from the script!
