Excited to announce that a film that we've been working on for 5 years - yes, 5, long, painstaking years, is finally greenlit. It's a horror film written by a beloved writer from the Stage 32 community with a story that we've been really passionate about making. We had the financing and it fell out when the pandemic happened. Then, the strikes happened. The producing team never gave up. We fought at every market and finally we got our yes from financing. I'm excited to go on this journey. This is a post to say that no matter what, stick with it...never give up. The path is long, there are a million winding roads but no matter what, tenacity wins the day.

Congratulations, Amanda Toney! That is such incredible news and a huge testament to your perseverance and belief in the story. Five years is no small feat and the fact that you and the team stayed committed through a pandemic, industry shutdowns, and all the unexpected turns in between is truly inspiring. Can’t wait to see this one come to life and cheer you on every step of the way!

Having suffered 4 years of absolute development hell, I can well imagine all the ups and downs you've gone through!
Having funding stripped away after interest because of BS lockdowns was always the hardest, but finding the will to go on when enthusiasm is low and your bank balance is non-existent, is not a test I'd not suggest anyone pushes oneself through, unless absolutely committed and in a relationship which can stand the strain... because, yes, such a fruitless, long ordeal can be put pressure on every couple!
But you got there in the end - congratulations!
As for us: we're still not getting a penny from the grant-awarding body (it seems to massively favour 5 companies!) but we got approached by a company in Thailand and we're developing a package to go out, which has given us a new feeling of focus and hope.
The other project will get made, it's just been placed on the backburner for now.
EDIT:
Sorry, I didn't mean to make this post all about me/us, but all these, NEVER GIVE UP! posts never once prepare hopeful individuals for the hardships that lie ahead.
I'm glad you weathered that stormy sea; may you find a city of gold!
