Reintroducing Myself and Introducing my Short Script
Hey, everyone. My name’s Maurice. I’m a screenwriter, ghostwriter, commercial writer, pitch deck designer, and Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I'm rewriting two feature scripts and writing a short script called Invisible. What are you working on right now? Or what's your latest victory (big or small)?
Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend my good friend! I love your poster! Tell me more about it! My short script calls The Misstep :) I need to make the poster :))
Hey Maurice Vaughan happy Introduce yourself week! How has your experience been ghost writing? Do you gravitate to a specific genre of person to ghostwrite?
Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend, Sandra Isabel Correia. Glad you love the poster. I made it with Canva. It's a Horror script about a woman who gains the ability to become invisible and uses it to get revenge on her bully. I should be done with the script this weekend. What's The Misstep about (if you're ready to share about)?
Hey Maurice Vaughan - Happy IYW! I just finished my voiceover profiles and I’m now editing a screenplay that I got some great notes on. All the best with your rewrites and script! I love the title of the short!
Hey, Jordan Smith. Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! My experience ghostwriting has been fantastic! I've worked with a lot of indie producers and directors on ghostwriting projects, mainly Horror and Action (also the main genres for my spec scripts).
Hey, Leonardo Ramirez. Happy IYW! Congratulations on finishing your voiceover profiles! Leonardo Ramirez is an incredible voice actor, everyone! Check out his profiles.
Thanks. Glad you got great notes on it! What's your script about (if you're ready to share about)?
The visual looks intriguing!! Looking forward to learn more about it when due time comes.
Small victories is surely my no-budget shortfilm getting recognition thoughout several festivals as well as my feature script "Faces" reaching far amongst the judges. Awaiting the final rounds to see if it will fall in the prices.
When you mention that you are re-writing feature scripts, are they new drafts on your previous work or are you doing that to help somebody else?
Hey Maurice Vaughan - it's the film short "Homeless". It's been placing well in contests but I want to make it better and fine tune some things. I'm also applying the same notes to "The Book of Jon" so it'll help that script as well. I do have my voiceover links in my profile now so thanks for mentioning that!
Thanks, Oswald Hunter. Congratulations on your no-budget short film getting recognition and Faces reaching far amongst the judges! They're new drafts of my spec scripts.
You're welcome, Leonardo Ramirez. I remember you telling me about Homeless. Congratulations on your short placing well in contests! I can't wait to see Homeless, The Book of Jon, Agents of C.O.W., and all your projects!
Thanks for sharing Maurice Vaughan. I love that and would love to see it made in a film. That’s a very intriguing story and I am curious to see how you will create her invisible:))
Yes, The Misstep is about a distracted woman who enter in the wrong apartment at the wrong hour! It’s a psychological thriller. Next week I will write the script :))
You're welcome, Sandra Isabel Correia. "The wrong apartment at the wrong hour." The Misstep sounds interesting! And scary. Happy writing! Keep me posted on the script.
Umm, I LOVE this poster! Have you considered adding a tagline to it? Just so we get a sense of what it's about beyond just the visual. Also, is the short a proof of concept? You know I'm a big advocate for those ;-)
Hey, Karen "Kay" Ross. Thanks. Great idea about the tagline. I'm gonna add one to the poster. Thanks for the idea. I'm going to pitch the short script, but if it doesn't sell, I have ideas for a feature script.
Hey Maurice Vaughan! Invisible is such an intriguing title! Definitely piques my curiosity. My recent victory has been challenging myself to learn new marketing skills. It’s been a little outside my comfort zone, but I’m enjoying the process and reminding myself that every new skill just adds more tools to the creative toolbox!
Maurice Vaughan, I'm currently working on my Historical Fiction Novel and my first movie script. (I'm working on that script just out of my love for film making, I haven't got the chance to be part of any movie production)
A Historical Fiction Novel sounds interesting, Amirreza Mahdiyan. I'm not sure if I've heard of Historical Fiction before. What genre(s) is your movie script?
