I'm sitting here listening to music -- currently the song "HIGHWAY TO HELL", opening up my e-mail...and once again we find ourselves at another Introduce Yourself Weekend. And, as per usual, there is a theme! Five points if you can figure it out without using Google. And no cheating -- the rule is right there in BLACK & WHITE. In terms of rules, THAT'S ADEQUATE, right?
I'm Doug Kayne, and I'm a writer, comedian, and actor based in Los Angeles. I'm a member of the unscripted comedy group Those Four Misfits (www.ThoseFourMisfits.com). We're a pretty funny trio, and our next show is coming up on Friday, March 28 at 9:00 at the Whitmore-Lindley Theater in North Hollywood. Tickets are only $10 per person! Come and bring your FRIENDS.
I've also been fortunate enough to have had early writing success, with my first screenplay being made into a made-for-TV movie. Unfortunately, I haven't had the same level of success since, which has led to a lot of frustration and brought on THE HEARTBREAK -- KIDding!...sort of. Not a lot of the latter, per se, as I'm not giving up. And, while I do have a little bit of ENVY for those who have managed to be successful, I am proud of them, I am KEEPING THE FAITH that I'll be able to be successful as well.
Speaking of which, as I've mentioned before, I still have a completed first season of a sci-fi comedy series I've written that I'm hoping to get on a streaming service. We've hit a snag which is causing us to pivot a little and most likely film a different scene for a teaser as a part of the pitch package. While we thought it might be a bit easy, unfortunately REALITY BITES pretty hard, which has caused the delays. I'm including a fun little video with this post as another teaser for it.
Being in Los Angeles has enabled me to meet and work with some really cool people. I've been able to act alongside working actresses, actors, and stunt performers. And I even got to MEET THE PARENTS and Mr. Feeny from "Boy Meets World".
If there is any way I can help anyone realize their visions, let me know. I'm in HOT PURSUIT to work with cool, creative people. So talk to YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS -- let's make this happen!

Hey, Doug Kayne! Great to see you again! Man - keep on keepin' on! After COVID, the strikes, and the recent fires, it's hard to be in LA right now. I've only been here 6 years, and I'm not sure I can call myself a "success" either, but I think that's why you have to count every victory.
Also, I didn't get the hints, I'm sorry LOL

I'm stumped on the theme again, Doug Kayne. Haha That's cool that you met Mr. Feeny. How is William Daniels in real life?

Maybe I’ll get lucky and we’ll get to work together and celebrate the same victory, Karen "Kay" Ross! And, as far as the hints…remember, I said no Googling. Doesn’t mean you can’t use other sources…

Always great to see you, Doug Kayne. And this is one hell of a IY post. That's how you get it done. And an AC/DC fan? Keep rockin', my friend.

Maurice Vaughan William Daniels was pretty cool. Granted, I met him back in 1999 (along with the rest of the cast of “Boy Meets World”, so it’s been a while). Keep at trying to figure it out.

Thanks, Richard! And, yep…AC/DC provides a nice soundtrack. “Thunderstruck” is probably my favorite song of theirs. What about you?

Thanks for reintroducing yourself, Doug Kayne! Your posts are always such a fun ride, and I love the energy and humor you bring to the community (and your creative work!). I'm guessing that the theme is Ben Stiller movies, right? I don't know a few of the titles, but the others all have him in common to my recollection.
It’s great to hear you’re still pushing forward with your series and finding new ways to keep the momentum going. Pivoting isn’t easy, but it sounds like you’re making the best of it. Appreciate you offering your support to fellow creatives too. Keep us posted, and good luck with the next teaser!

Oh man, Doug Kayne. So many to choose from. I'll go a little lesser known...Shot Down in Flames, Rising Power, Flick of the Switch, Hell Ain't a Bad Place to be. So many though...Tough to choose.

Well crafted as always Doug Kayne! I always look forward to these!

Some really good, lesser-known ones there, Richard "RB" Botto. I bet we can take a deep dive and spotlight music from more unknown artists. See if we can’t give them a chance to get discovered.

Thanks, Nick Phillips. i enjoy doing them. Keeps some creative juices flowing. Especially during periods of writer’s block. Knowing I have only a weekend gives me a deadline.

I’m trying, John Snell. On the plus side, I can’t do it all alone, so I get to bring people along for the ride. And, when I get success, the plan is to bring them along with me.
