Introduce Yourself : Visual story teller by Michael Fox

Michael Fox

Visual story teller

I like that title - Visual story teller. Sums it up perfectly. Not only film/video but stills, graphics, multimedia, and slideware. I have worked all over Europe, South Africa and the United States with assignments taking me through Africa, the Middle East, Haiti, Mexico and South-East Asia. With more than 20 years of combined experience as a professional photojournalist and videographer, I have extensive knowledge of media communications and marketing, having worked in those capacities at IBM in England, South Africa and the U.S, and with many of the world's top technology companies in and around the Silicon Valley region. I continue to work on projects that aim to re-engage public interest in humanitarian and social issues on a local, national, and international basis. In my years as a photojournalist, I have been doused in tear gas, shot at with pepper spray cartridges, nearly attacked at night by a mountain lion (which turned out to be a wild donkey), and brought in to land on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific. My work has been featured in many leading daily, weekly and monthly publications as well as on BBC New Media, MSNBC, CNN and other news-related channels. I have also been invited to teach, on multiple occasions, at San Francisco-based art universities at BFA and MFA levels, both classroom and on-line courses.
