I am a jewelry designer who utilizes 3d modeling software as well an tactile hand building skills to make jewelry related props and detail shot environments. I am pretty new at this and I am aggressively seeking info and market penetration. As a crew guy in college I have some understanding of abstract scene imagery and the demanding needs of a production team. I want to hear from costume designers, prop managers and directors. What makes a great prop subcontractor. Thanks Paul Bierker
Durabilty is the one thing I look for. Especially if the piece has multiple uses. Nothing worse than having a wardrobe malfuntion with jewlery. Rip a seam in a costume, I can sew, pin, or even tape that. Break a piece of jewlery? My glue gun can only do so much.
Great points Scot- I just did a piece for a major production house. supplied them with 6 units and 12 chains LOL Oh yeah and to top it off 3d Digital animation geometry. If you ever have a malfunction call me immediatly and I will see if I can help...or at least offer advice.
