Quentin Tarantino Freaks Out During A Live Interview.

In a recent interview Tarantino refuses to answer a question and tells the journalist "I'm shutting your butt down!" Here is the link to the interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GrsJDy8VjZk My question to you is ... Do you agree with Tarantino's decision to refuse?

Wayne G Sweat

I thought he handled to interviewer very well. Mr. Tarantino is right, he's there to sell a movie and the interviewer is trying to build ratings by putting him on the spot. Does anyone want to bet whether or not these two do an interview again, I'm betting not.

Johanna Marshall

I wouldn't say that he freaked out......He was just standing up for himself and his film. The interviewer was egging him on and Tarantino handled himself appropriately............Mr. T is NO FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thomas Lee Howell

The slavery subject has indeed been rehashed over and over and over. QT find a more vital and modern day idea. This theme is old hat and continues to stereotype the POOR me I'm Black BS.

Parker Reeve

This is a "freak out"? Seem like a reasonable response to a foolish question to me.

W. Paul Hughes

Loved that interview. You go Quentin. He's a rebel and he'll never be any good (old 60's lyrics)

Marcello Aurelio Lanfranchi

I think it's a shame that what started out as a discussion of a deep issue that, as Tarantino explains, hasn't been addressed much in the past 30+ years (since Roots, I'd say), devolved into what felt to me like a petty spat. Yes, the interviewer was trying to draw out a potentially explosive response, which would have been great for his ratings and, yes, from Tarantino's perspective, the interview was a commercial for his film (which, let's admit, that's all it was), but I see no reason Tarantino had to get so combative. I guess, that he's a devout fan of violence, it shouldn't surprise me.

Leon Reaper

i hate this interviewer, he has no idea of creativity whatsoever, Tarantino is trying something new out with his ideas and this guy starts on it by something that has nothing to do with the film, films are not all by the book. they can be fiction but entertaining aswell

Amanda Nevarez

Tarantino is absolutely correct. If you are a fan of his, you either know his stance on violence or just don't care! Either way, no use in beating the subject to death over and over again when his opinion is out there already. To use his fans as the reason for asking that question was childish.

Malcolm Carter

QT was probably tired of answering the same question over and over and over and over and over again, it happens, although you got to be able to control yourself and not sound like a jerk

Marcello Aurelio Lanfranchi

I agree. I thought he could have been tactful about not wanting to go into that and then steer the conversation in a different direction. But that's just not the type of guy he is. The long and the short of it is, it doesn't make any difference what any of us thinks. It happened the way it did and won't likely change anyone opinion of him. Even if it does, I don't think it would alter someone's take on his work. You wither like it or you don't.

Whose that waving their hand on the left hand side behind the interviewer (7mins 50 secs)? IN MY OPINION (lawyers please note!) it appears that the poor interviewer walked in on something that was 'planned': the whole thing smells of being 'staged'. Like I said though - that's just my personal opinion. Good interview though!!

Wayne G Sweat

How could a person be his fan if they dislike excessive violence? Oh, Mr. Van Gogh, may I have the knife please?

Wayne G Sweat

Lol, I thought you were quoting the interviewer.

Cesar Bandera

That's the reason because we love Tarantino's films. He makes the film that he wants. Through his films we explore that hidden place inside our soul which make us feel power and fear. That's violence, power and fear. I'm right with Tarantino to refuse the question. He expose an unconventional way to explain their stories without tags and morality questions, just show and let the people take their responsibility about their are feeling watching those images. Tarantino refuse make a philosophy issue about violence and put tags over his films.

Dustin Bowcott

Tarantino has the right to call the shots, but still he could have handled himself better. He came across as a little whiney. Also, I'm not sure people are talking about slavery... seems they are talking more about the relationship between gratuitous violence in films and killing sprees in the US.
