I am just reflecting on some of my funniest or most Interesting Auditions, and I wanna hear about yours. Anything bizarre that you can't believe or that was embarrassing? What was it for? Did you get the audition?
Probably one of the oddest auditions I have ever done was for a touring company. We were asked to fill out an information sheet with our name and the title & author of the two contrasting monologues (not to exceed two minutes) we planned to perform. Before going into the room, we were told not to introduce ourselves or even greet the CD. Just wait until we were told to start our monologues. Once in the room, the CD also pointed out a row of sticky notes on the floor in front of her table and instructed me that I was not to come any closer to her than that row of sticky notes. Also, she had a timer set for exactly two minutes and when the timer went off, she was going to stop me, whether I was finished with my monologue or not. Needless to say, I didn't get cast.
