Greetings, film people! I'm ELLIOT SOKOLOV, composer, producer, and remixer based in New York. I create original music and songs for a wide variety of film, TV, animation, advertising, dance, theatre, performance art, and media productions. My documentary film scoring includes "Kings Park: Stories from an American Mental Institution", "The Restless Conscience" (nominated for an Academy Award); "Golden Threads," (featured on PBS); "Turn To Me", and "The Burning Wall". Feature film work includes scores for the independent features "Broadway Damage", "Comeback", "Roughneck" and the TV films "Good Old Boy" and "Seasonal Differences". I've scored TV shows including "Nova", "Nature", "National Geographic Explorer", "Intimate Portrait", MTV's "Art Break", PBS' "New Television" and music for over 100 animations on "Sesame Street". I have roots in both serious and pop music, with a Masters degree in music composition from Columbia University, and as a guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist in various rock bands over the years. Elliot, can you do performances of classical pieces? If I ever get to make an indie I'd like to do, that kind of work will figure in heavily in the soundtrack. Performance rights fees to New York Philharmonic performances and such can be heftier than I'll be able to pay.
