How many editors here on this forum uses professional DAW's for their post work. My favorite that I own and use it Magix Sequoia/Samplitude. I also use Reaper from time to time when my clients delivery format needs to be in WEBM. I write and compose in Reason, Ableton Live, and Sampltude on PC and Logic only on the Mac. I have to say that I wish I could combine the best of all my DAW's in one app. Then again, I appreciate the diversity of development. It keeps me current when writing and doing post work for certain clients. So, what DAW do you use?
It's great to see someone else using Samplitude - that program is amazing and very underrated. It has some really unique features compared to other DAWs.
Yes it does. I hate Protools and Nuendo. I had liked Samplitude since version 6. To me, it has the best sounding audio engine in the DAW community. Sequoia is just a beast in post. Object base editing is the way to go period. It is cool to see that there are fellow Samplitude users on the forum.
Yes, object editing is killer. Without it, I couldn't do the type of sonic architecture that I put into my music.
Maybe it's me but when I hear an ordinary kick sound in Samp compared to others DAWs, samplitude and sequoia beats them all. Samplitude has a girth that is not in other apps unless some processing is being applied. The built in plugins are down right soul saving. AM-Track and the other AM suite plugins are my goto tools for vintage thug funk if you can grasp the urban slang. What kind of music do you produce? I call my stuff club fusion. It is a mixer of funk, house, gospel and jazz.
I'm changing to IMac and Logic at the moment and my immediate concern is not having 32bit floating point in my new toolbox. I'm a Soundcapist using Sam 8.0 (not using any other tools. not even for sampling)and in the first two days I already decided to build a Windows partition on the Mac just for Sam. cos I already miss the immense space the floating point is giving me. I'm willing to listen to any good advice concerning using two partitions and/or getting better result in Logic.

I do professional Post audio, as well as video - Protools HD, System 6000, Ceder, and assorted plugins....
Sony Vegas Pro with plugins - Izotope's Nectar and RX2, Zynaptiq's Unveil - and a Mackie MCU Pro control surface.
ProTools all day every day. It's the tool of Post.
Magix Sequoia/Samplitude on PC en Logic on the IMac Realy love Dave Brown plugins, I realy don't think it would be possible to make one plugin to take care of all stuff needed, maybe also to expensive.
I personally don't use a DAW as I tend to video edit as oppose to sound design/score or multitrack audio projects including dialogue, sound effects and music. But know people who do, I will tend to give them audio to fix or improve.
I use Protools for all my postproduction work. I've really been enjoying the Izotope plugins lately. For music I use Ableton Live and Protools. Haven't ever tried Sequoia/Samplitude.
